Gruyere is originally from the Alpine area between Switzerland and France. Wisconsin cheesemakers use the same classic techniques to produce award winning, handcrafted Gruyere. This cheese is a must in an exquisite fondue or shred it on top of veal or chicken.
With the status of Surchoix (meaning “top choice” in French) you can’t go wrong! Only the finest wheels of Gruyere are hand-selected for additional curing. This cheese stands alone , no need to pair with anything but a fine glass of white wine perhaps Riesling; if you must, try with melon or almonds.
